A young girl was shot 6 times last week, because she stood between her mother’s would-be killer and begged that he spare her mother’s life. The girl was seven years old.

What causes someone to do this? From the article I dig that she may have been a “special-needs” child, and perhaps her reasoning ability wasn’t really kicking in. Most kids would be terrified at the sight of a gun. Then again, if you live in Detroit a few blocks from a service station with bars in the windows, and men with guns sit on your porch, maybe you get a little desensitized.
Oh and mom, don’t worry, you can read the article; the young girl survives.
