Hurricane Ike Update #2

We made it through the night. All our windows are intact, and there’s no flooding in out apartment. The power’s out city-wide, and our neighbors on all floors have flooding and fire alarms going off. Fortunately we don’t see any fires.

The buildings nearby have lots of windows busted, there’s insulation blowing everywhere. The storm drains were plugged (until Kari and I walked past, that is *grin*). Fences are gone, trees are down, roofs are ripped up. The awesome power of the storm was very evident.

Lance was ok on the roof overnight. There’s shingles and metal roof pieces everywhere though, so I’m sure there’s scratches we’re not seeing.

We’ll have pictures and maybe video when we get power back.
