At @_philipclark's house, playing Rockband... AGAIN! Do they have a 12 step program for this? - via Twitter
Microsoft Hater. Apple Fanboy. Zealot. Apple Whore.
Any one of those terms can be used for someone who is a die-hard Apple Computer fan. I guess I qualify for one of those, and I think the “fanboy” one is as good as I can hope for. I love their stock, love their company and love their products. Recently I have come to love their customer service as well. I am biased. Completely and udderly biased. But I have my reasons, one of which is chronicled below:
While in Jakarta my ethernet port stopped working on the MacBook Pro. The Verizon card doesn’t work overseas, obviously, so I was left with no connection at all. Once I got home and got all the emails answered I called Apple. Here’s the tiemline:
As it turns out, the problem was the non-apple certified ram I installed. Apple removed it, ran a hardware test, tested the ethernet port, and sent it home. There was a letter describing what they did, and my bad ram in a zip-lock with instructions not to replace it.
So, how much did this cost me? Yikes. Approximations:
Actual cost = $0
Goss bless you guys!
