Here I am, my last 3 hours on American soil for 12 days, and I’m throwing down the <p> tags like no other. Where am I though? San Francisco airport (SFO) in the Japan Airlines lounge. Their WiFi works, but there’s no internet (freaking brilliant… “Free WiFi”), so I’m sucking trucks from tubes through a little stir straw known as Verizon EVDO. Oi vey.
I could get used to this international business class thing. The lounges, the short lines… oh yeah, and the seats on the airplanes. I flew from SEA to SFO on Alaska Airlines. People go on and on about how great they are, but I just don’t get it. “Yay, warm nuts!” well la-de-freakin’ da. I ly Continental, they feed you. And their planes were built this decade. I’m SO SICK of flying on jets that lok like their interiors were designed by Milli Vanilli and Snoop Dogg before he was clean high whatever he was in the 80’s. For real people, has nobody at Alaska (or Northwest, or United, or US Airways, etc.) crawled out from under their rocks and realised that blue is NOT calming, we don’t like rubber carpet, vinyl does not pass as leather or that carpet on the walls is NOT OK?!?!
Whew. Ok, I’m calming down. It helps that I’m in this nice lounge. Man I love flying Continental… now if they would only fly out of Bellingham…
